6 Services You Didn’t Know Your Local Plantation Urgent Medical Center Offers
Your local Plantation Urgent Medical Center offers a variety of unexpected services including immunizations, clinical services, immigration exams and more! We are strong supporters of our local community, and feel passionate about providing leading care, convenient services and fast medical attention.
People often assume urgent care is only for fast medical attention, such as a sprained ankle, deep gash, or a suddenly violent flu. We do offer fast treatment for unexpected illnesses and injuries, but also we offer a plethora of on the spot medical services, including lab tests, vaccinations and more. Here are 6 services we are proud to offer that regularly surprise our new patients.
1. Testing & Treatment For Cholesterol, Hypertension, High Blood Pressure + More
Many health conditions can be identified with a simple blood test. Finding out you have hypertension or diabetes is never fun but a diagnoses could literally save your life. Once you know what health conditions you are up against, our friendly medical staff can help direct you to the right course of treatment through medications, life style changes and so forth.
Simply walk in or set up on appointment online for speedy test results that keep you on top of your health. It’s important to identify the development of things like high blood pressure or cholesterol before your numbers get so out of control you actually notice something is wrong.
2. Vaccinations & Immunizations
Need a vaccination for school, work, or travel? Sometimes you need a vaccination much sooner than your regular doctor can get you into the office. We recommend calling ahead to ensure we have the appropriate vaccination on hand, but generally are able to provide vaccinations on the spot or within a couple of days.
Vaccines provided by Urgent Medical Center:
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)
- Hepatitis A & B
- Flu shots
- Vaccines that need to be ordered ahead of time and require a deposit include:
- Pneumococcal (pneumonia)
- Meningococcal (meningitis)
- Gardasil (HPV)
- Zostavax (shingles)
No vaccine will prevent 100% of all potential infection and illness, but immunizations greatly reduce your risk for becoming infected, as well the severity if you are infected.
There are certain vaccinations mandated by law. In fact, you may be banned from participating in certain activities if you do not obtain the proper vaccinations with documented proof. Some vaccinations are completely optional but highly recommended, for instance the flu shot and Gardasil. Our doctor is here to help you decide which vaccines you do and don’t need.
3. Wide Range Of Clinical Services
We provide a full list of clinical services to the public including everything from wound and urine cultures, to pap smears and DNA testing.
Our clinical services include:
- Alcohol testing
- Basic Labs (CBC, CMP, PT, PTT, PSA, TSH and more)
- Cholesterol screening
- Confidential STD testing
- Diabetes screening
- Digital X-Rays
- DNA testing
- Drug screenings
- High blood pressure screening
- HIV testing
- Immunization Titers (Varicella, Hep B, MMR)
- Pap smear
- Pregnancy testing
- Pulmonary function test (spirometry)

4. Immigration Exams
These exams include your overall physical exam, vaccination status verification, RPR lab testing, TB skin testing, certified and sealed I-693 form, patient copy of I-693 form, and a copy of all laboratory test results.
Visit us today for a free immigration exam consultation, during which one of our friendly staff members will go over all medical records and explain everything you need to pass your immigration exam according to USCIS requirements.
5. Medical Clearance For Surgery
Before undergoing routine, cosmetic or health-related surgery you may need a signed medical clearance stating you are healthy enough for the procedure. This is hugely beneficial to your personal health and safety. Undergoing surgery with an underlying and unknown condition could end in death, even if you are only going in for a basic procedure.
Our thorough medical clearance exams include:
- Chest X-rays
- A full physical exam
- Blood work
- Any other tests you require to be cleared for surgery
We provide you with the documented proof your surgeon needs. Clearance can be mandated in as little as 48-hours prior to your surgery, although we highly recommend coming in 7-10 days prior to needing clearance in order to leave wiggle room for any unexpected delays.
6. Cosmetic Botox
Not all urgent care centers offer Botox, but we are proud to offer it as one of our many services. Our experienced doctor performs cosmetic Botox in a safe and sterile environment. Botox is used to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, as well as to treat headaches, sweaty palms and a number of other conditions. Call us today to learn more!
